Meet Dr. Patty
Dr. Patty grew up in the Black Hills of South Dakota where her love for animals was kindled. She completed her undergraduate studies at South Dakota State University and then attended the University of Minnesota, School of Veterinary Medicine. After becoming a Veterinarian, Dr. Patty’s passionate interest in integrative health care choices for her animal patients led her to further her education. She has completed extensive training in Animal Chiropractic at Options for Animals, College of Animal Chiropractic and in Veterinary Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine with Dr. Shen Xie at the Chi Institute.
Dr. Patty has practiced as an equine veterinarian in Northeast Wisconsin since 2000 where she focused on a holistic approach to practice; integrating traditional care with chiropractic, acupuncture, nutrition, behavior, hoof care and dentistry. This assured quality healthcare for horses while offering maximum choices in treatment. During her tenure at both Bay Meadow Equine and Great Lakes Equine Wellness Center, Dr. Patty routinely saw dogs and cats (and even some dairy cows!) for acupuncture and chiropractic care. Over the years it became clear to her that focusing on this part of her passion was filling a significant need for the area. In 2011, Dr. Patty chose to leave her traditional veterinary practice and concentrate solely on offering integrated medicine to Northeast Wisconsin. Dr. Patty is certified as a Veterinary Acupuncturist by the Chi Institute and the China National Society of TCVM. Additionally, she has been certified in Animal Chiropractic by the International Veterinary Chiropractic Association and was honored to share her skills and knowledge while teaching at Options for Animals, College of Animal Chiropractic near Kansas City, for nearly fifteen years. Dr. Patty is fascinated by behavior, and is an enthusiastic student of equine behavior and natural horsemanship. In her ‘spare time’, she loves spending time with her family which currently includes a ridiculously gorgeous golden retriever, two hilarious aussies, three lady cats and two especially handy horses. |
